INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING

{ INTRO: INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING IS A CLASS BASED TEACHING US HOW TO DRAW ARCHITECT RELATED DRAWINGS. THIS CLASS IS TUTORED BY LECTURER MS. SUFINA AND CO-TUTORED BY LECTURER, MS.IFFA. ITD CONSISTS OF 3 PROJECTS: PROJECT 1 { UNDERSATNG DIFFRENT PROFESSION AND THEIR DRAWINGS }, PROJECT 2 { BASIC ORTHOGRAPHIC DRAWINGS } AND FINAL PROJECT { DRAWING BASIC SPACE }. ALL THESE 3 PROJECTS PLUS THIS E-PORTFOLIO WILL BE TAKEN TO ACCOUNT FOR THE FINAL GRADE. IN THIS CLASS, WE LEARNT THE ORTOGRAPHIC DRAWINGS, LINE WEIGHT, SCALE AMONGST OTHER THINGS. }
( Project Brief )
{ In this project, we were supposed to understand and describe occupations that work in the built environment, for example, architects, interior designers and others. This project was an intergration between modules English 1, Intro to Construction Industry and Intro to Drawing. My group was made out of Sara, Omar, Seraj, Shreya, Yang, Sue Wen and myself. }
PROJECT 1: PRESENTATION
( The Presentation )
{ In this project, I learnt the different drawings that a landscape architect has to deal with during the 3 phases. I also learnt new drawings that I have never heard of for example bubble plan and what its uses are towards the planning phase. Finally, I also learnt that communication skills are very important because it helps the group perform better during presentations. }

PROJECT 2:
ORTHOGRAPHIC DRAWINGS
{ In this individual project, we had to choose an object smaller than A5 size and draw it to scale of either 1:1 or 1:2. We also had to draw it using different lineweights and techniques to make sure our orthographic drawings looked decent enough. For my object, I chose a hole puncture as it has a property that is intersting to me. }
( Project Brief )

{ While drawing, I learnt that technical skils such as scaling and lineweight. I also learnt that drawings such as orthographic drawings are not easy and must be precise, clean and neat. To produce a drawing which is good, one has to be considerate to detail and must realise that putting abit more effort can go a long way. }

FINAL PROJECT:
DRAWING A SPACE
{ In our final project, we had to design a studio apartment assigned to us in the brief. We had to design a kitchen area, bedroom and bathrrom using only furniture from IKEA catalogue 2015. In this assignment we had to draw 3 elevations, a section, a layout plan and a perspective of our apartment. }

( Project Brief )
{ In this assignment, I learnt how to enhance my skills at scaling and lineweight from the previous project. In this project, I tried to be neater and clearer on paper. Finally, I also learnt a glimpse into the Interior Designing world such as planning what furniture to place where and also drawing perspectives of the space given. }
